DIY One Wish Willow from Obsession

Make a DIY One Wish Willow prop inspired by Curry Barker's horror movie "Obsession"

Making a DIY One Wish Willow from Obsession

I knew I was in trouble the second I paused the trailer for Curry Barker’s new film Obsession, solely to study at the One Wish Willow packaging. And when I went to see the actual film, I was so fixated on actually owning one that my brain immediately began conjuring up ideas.

That is usually how these things start around here — I’m just trying to enjoy a movie, and suddenly some tiny prop or subtle reference has piqued my interest.

The One Wish Willow immediately had me. It has that Monkey’s Paw energy: a small object, a desperate wish, and consequences waiting to happen. But what really sold me was the vintage toy-style presentation of the box and labels. The little novelty-shop feeling of something that looks harmless but ever-so-slightly dangerous. So of course, I had to make one of my own.

A Google search only resulted in a bunch of AI-generated slop, with nonsense words, so I opened Adobe Illustrator and drew my own. I know it isn’t IDENTICAL to the one in the film, but I did my best with what reference files I could find.

For this DIY One Wish Willow project, I printed the free One Wish Willow STL from BambuLab’s MakerWorld, but I have listed another alternative for those who don’t have access to a 3D printer.

The film has a website where they are selling official replicas of the prop, but alas, it remains sold out. I encourage everyone to support the film and to purchase one as soon as they are available again.

Important Update About the Printable Template

Because this template has been repeatedly redistributed, shared without permission, modified, and used commercially in violation of its terms, it is no longer being offered for download.

I truly appreciate those who used my work respectfully. This notice exists to protect the time, effort, and original artwork that went into creating this project.

This One Wish Willow inspired template was hand-drawn by me in Adobe Illustrator as my personal, fan-made interpretation of the box. It is not an official product, is not affiliated with or endorsed by the filmmakers, studios, rights holders, or related brands, and is not intended to be a screen-accurate replica.

Where to Get the One Wish Willow 3D Print/STL

The One Wish Willow 3D print file is available free through BambuLab’s MakerWorld. That file is for the actual 3D printed One Wish Willow stick only.

My printable box template is no longer available due to repeated unauthorized sharing, modification, and commercial use in violation of its terms. If you are looking for the One Wish Willow STL or 3D print file, you can start with the MakerWorld file linked below.

Don’t have a 3D Printer? Use Cholla Wood!

Natural cholla wood/husks (typically used in aquariums) look nearly identical to the One Wish Willow. Buy them at your local pet store, or on Amazon.

Assembly and Display Tips

A few things that helped the finished One Wish Willow prop look more polished:

  • Print the box on heavyweight matte cardstock if possible. I used an off-white/cream color.
  • Score your fold lines before folding. A scoring board or ruler will help achieve straight folds.
  • Use a bone folder, ruler, or the back of a butter knife to get cleaner folds.

One Wish Willow F.A.Q.

The One Wish Willow is the mysterious wish-granting object featured in the horror film Obsession. In the movie, it is connected to Bear and Nikki’s story and the dangerous consequences of trying to force a wish.
Thank goodness, the One Wish Willow is fictional. It doesn’t grant wishes, manipulate fate, or fix anyone’s questionable romantic decisions.
But the prop itself has become a real point of interest for horror fans searching for the One Wish Willow toy, the One Wish Willow box, whether the One Wish Willow is real, or where to buy a One Wish Willow from Obsession.
My version is an unofficial fan-made project inspired by Obsession. It is meant for personal display, cosplay, photos, collections, and movie-night decorating.
No wishes are included, and there is no official affiliation with the film or studio.
The free One Wish Willow STL is available through BambuLab’s MakerWorld platform. My printable template pack does not include the STL; it is designed to display the finished 3D print.

A lot of people are searching for whether the One Wish Willow is for sale, where to buy the One Wish Willow, or whether there is an official One Wish Willow toy.

Availability may change, especially with horror promo items and limited releases, so check the official One Wish Willow site first if you are looking for official merch.

This post shows my unofficial, fan-made display version. My printable box template is no longer available for download due to repeated unauthorized sharing, modification, and commercial use.

The printable box template is no longer available for download. When it was available, it was designed around the MakerWorld/BambuLab print, but it was only intended for personal fan use.

If you are making your own personal display piece, cholla wood/husks for aquariums are still a great alternative if you do not have access to a 3D printer.
