It has been quite some time since I have had a product review up on the blog, and I am really excited about this particular item that I received from Sourpuss Clothing – this super cute Brain Cake Cookie Jar!
Satisfy your cravings for both braaaains and desserts with this hand-painted ceramic Brain Cake Cookie Jar from Sourpuss Clothing! This ghoulishly delightful cupcake stands 10.5″ inches tall, is generously adorned with brains and an eyeball, and is the perfect vessel for stashing away some goodies.
Even though I read that the cookie jar stood 10.5″ tall, I was still pleasantly surprised with the large size and capacity of the cookie jar. I am guessing you could fit 3-4 dozen cookies in there.
The cookie jar itself is very stable and sturdy, so any concerns about it being too top-heavy, or toppling over are not an issue. The lid fits securely in place, and the eyeball decoration on top is securely attached.
Another thing that I really liked about the design of this Brain Cake Cookie Jar, was the decoration. The glaze/color is evenly applied, and not streaky. I’ve ordered other ceramic pieces from various other brands, and had issues with color consistency, and how it was applied. That was definitely not the case here; the jar looked exactly like the pictures, and there were no cracks, chips or crazing on the glaze.
The red/black/white color palette makes this an easy addition to any kitchen. Since my decor happens to be red/black/mint/white, this fit right in, and happily sits on my counter. Any time I have company, they always comment on how awesome this cookie jar is. It is the perfect balance of cute, kitschy and spooky…and I love it!
I am so in love with this cookie jar, I even made my own sugar cookies inspired by it!
